The organisation as a person

Question 3

An experienced GP in her early fifties

Calm, reliable and a touch headstrong. Listens first, always has an open door, and sometimes forgets to go home on time. Five of the six participants describe someone who cares; one mainly sees an entrepreneur.

Six layers of your story

The shared picture and the differences, per theme

01 · Origin & common thread

Questions 1, 2

Shared picture

Born out of dissatisfaction with how things went elsewhere. The common thread: rolling up your sleeves and making choices that put the client first.

Where it differs

The picture of the early years differs: a kitchen table full of plans, or a first big client who stayed.

“I see an attic room, three laptops and someone on the phone with a client until ten at night.”

02 · Values in behaviour

Questions 5, 8, 9

Shared picture

Honesty and getting stuck in show in small things: delivering bad news yourself, helping each other out without being asked.

Where it differs

You think differently about the core activity: giving advice, or getting people moving.

“Here you call the client yourself when things go wrong. Nobody hides behind an email.”

03 · Inside and outside

Questions 6, 7

Shared picture

Inside it feels warm and informal; you notice it at the coffee table and in how new colleagues are welcomed.

Where it differs

How visible that is to the outside is the least shared theme. Half think outsiders see it straight away, the other half do not.

“Clients only notice it after a few weeks. Our website tells a different story.”

04 · Meaning

Questions 11, 13

Shared picture

You exist to give a place to people who fall through the cracks. Everyone agrees on that remarkably well.

Where it differs

Some put the emphasis on clients, others on what the work means for colleagues themselves.

“For many clients we are the first to really ask further.”

05 · Tension & longing

Questions 10, 12

Shared picture

Growth puts pressure on the way of working. There is a longing to keep feeling small, even as you grow.

Where it differs

Where the tension lies differs strongly: in the workload, in decision-making, or in which clients you do and do not take on.

“We say yes to everything. That is our strength and exactly where it pinches now.”

06 · Credibility

Question 14

Shared picture

At your strongest when you keep personal contact and do what you promise.

Where it differs

You see differently when the story is undermined: by growing too fast, or by too little courage.

“If we start selling a standard approach, we lose ourselves.”

To discuss together

Three questions from the differences

  1. From question 6What should a client notice about us in the first week?
  2. From question 10, 12What do we say no to from now on, to stay true to who we are?
  3. From question 9Do we give advice, or do we get people moving? And does it matter?

Our story

Our connecting story

We were born out of dissatisfaction with how things went elsewhere, and out of the conviction that it can be done differently. What binds us is the wish to help people get further than they thought they could.

We are warm and informal on the inside, and we want clients to notice that from the first week. Growth puts pressure on our way of working; that is exactly why we choose deliberately what we say yes and no to.
