Data use at NarraTyx

NarraTyx (a label of Godding Storytelling & Training) processes stories that are personal and meaningful. Your organisation, and the people who work with the platform, can count on us to handle them with care. On this page you'll read how we use, store and protect data, and what role AI plays in that.

How we use your data

We use data to deliver the service your organisation has chosen. That means holding conversations within a flow, generating summaries and analyses, and finding meaningful connections between stories. The results are intended for your organisation and stay within your organisation.

We do not use the personal stories shared on the platform to train third-party AI models, and we do not sell any data.

The role of AI

NarraTyx uses AI to analyse stories and make meaning visible. To process conversations, we rely on Anthropic's language models (Claude) and on technology for semantic analysis, which lets us recognise connections between stories.

These parties process data solely on NarraTyx's instructions and under data processing agreements. They do not use the supplied stories for their own purposes, nor to train their models. Part of this processing, including processing by Anthropic, takes place outside the EU. Appropriate safeguards apply to this, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses, so that your data remains protected there as well. In addition, we use Google to analyse how our website and service are used, so that we can improve them.

How we store your data

Your data is held on servers within the EU. Part of the processing by AI services takes place outside the EU, with appropriate safeguards as described above. We maintain a strict separation between organisations: one organisation's data is never accessible to another. That separation is built into the platform at every level, and with every action we verify ownership and permissions before anyone can access a conversation or result.

We store conversation content, summaries and the analyses derived from them separately, so that we can determine precisely who may access what.

How we protect your data

Security is built into the design of NarraTyx. Access to the platform runs through secure authentication, with role-based permissions that determine what someone may see and do. Sensitive actions such as logging in are protected against misuse. All communication between the browser and our systems is encrypted. In addition, we monitor the health of the system and keep logs, so that we notice unusual behaviour in time.

How long we keep your data

We keep data for as long as the account is active. When an account is closed, we delete the personal data and anonymise the analytical data, so that it can no longer be traced back to an individual.

Your rights and the GDPR

We process data in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Among other things, you have the right to access, correct and delete your data. How to exercise those rights, and the legal bases on which we process data, can be found in our privacy policy.
